Mr. Dev Man Hirachan, a well known figure as a visionary business man, Former President of NRNA and a philanthropist is truly a Nepali citizen who embraces his motherland Nepal in his heart. Coming from a middle class family of Mustang, studying medical sciences and having operated several successful businesses based on Japan, Nepal and extended to many companies around the globe, Mr. Hirachan is truly an inspiration.
He is affiliated with various numbers of national and international organizations. He is the Executive Chairperson of Educational and Social Development Center (ESODEC Nepal). He holds the position of Chief Patron of Non-Resident Nepali Association, International Co-ordination Council (NRNA-ICC), Namaste Company, Miyagi Pref., Japan and Nippon Nepal Forum of Osaka, Japan. He served as the Chairperson for Nepal Association Kansai in Osaka, Japan. At present, he serves as a prominent member in Osaka Chamber of Commerce & Industries (OCCI), Osaka, Japan. He is a member of Association of Jewelry, Osaka, Japan too. He has been appointed as Honorary Trade Envoy to Japan by Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI).
During his childhood, Mr. Hirachan visualized the prosperity of Nepal being possible only by developing agriculture sector. He may not have known how to make it happen then but now he is crystal clear. This is the reason he came up with a team of people who are actually interested to invest in Nepal and formed Global Capital Investment (GCI) Ltd. under his Chairmanship.
The investment in agriculture sector has never been highest priority because many have failed and others have left with almost no return. In this scenario GCI is investing in organic agriculture sector which is not less than chewing iron. For many it looks risky and not a thoughtful investment but Mr. Hirachan sees the ample opportunities in this sector. Huge quantities of agricultural products are being imported in Nepal and it is certain that the demands will never decline. “People will never stop eating so how can this sector not be potential”, says Mr. Hirachan.
Not only this, the investment in energy, tourism, garbage management, export of Nepalese products, encouraging FDIs through consultancy services are the areas GCI is working on.
